View from the abbey towards Queensferry (you can just make out the modern towers of the bridge spanning this ancient ferry that was run by the monks)

The Abbott's House. Now the visitor's centre and tourist information point - and a very nice cafe!

The foundations are on the edge of a steep ravine

The gateway to the abbey precinct

The old Dunfermline Palace now a ruined shell.

This was once a small stream from which the monks drew water and used as waste sewer. Lets hope they drew the water before they disposed of the waste. The alcove at the head of this gully was led to the privy.

The remains of the refectory to the south of the church.
